People who test backflow prevention devices need to be trained and certified. Certification is from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
People must complete a four-day training course. They get certified when the course is complete. Afterwards, their certification is valid for three years. Devices must be tested on installation and every year afterwards.
